3 Way Grainz offers special varieties of winter rye, winter wheat, and oats designed to provide a fast growing and cold tolerant food source for deer and turkey through the fall and winter. Planting hardy grains provides a nutritious food source to support deer throughout the season and helps attract and sustain a healthy herd. 3 Way Grainz offers highly palatable and adaptable grains that grow incredibly fast and establish quickly, making them the perfect option to plant on their own, mix with Domain’s brassica blends to sweeten up a food plot, or use as a nurse crop alongside perennials like clover and chicory. From North to South and everywhere in between, 3 Way Grainz helps maximize forage production on your property this season.

3 Way Grainz offers flexibility in when you plant it, but our preference with grains is to plant them as late as possible and hunt them early. This 3 way mix delivers quick green up to hunt right away while also providing green forage late into the season. Winter rye and winter wheat are likely to survive winter and provide early spring green up as well.

Seed Type: Annuals

Location: Full or partial sun, hunt plot, backwoods plot

pH Range: 5.8 – 7.0
Elbow Grease can help raise pH if needed

Soil Type: Well drained, dark/rich, sandy, rocky, clay

Tilling: Minimal required, plow, disk, or hand rake

Fertilizer: Use recommendation from soil test or apply a combined 2–3 gallons of Crank’d and Freight Train per acre

Seed Depth: 1/4" or less

Seed Rate: 80 lbs per acre
